The Israel Problem

“Today, America's intimate embrace of Israel- and especially its willingness to subsidize it no matter what its policies are- is not making Americans safer or more prosperous. To the contrary: unconditional support for Israel is undermining relations with other US allies, casting doubt on America's wisdom and moral vision, helping inspire a generation of anti-American extremists, and complicating US efforts to deal with the volatile but vital region.” – The Israel Lobby
On September 10, 2025, an assassin’s bullet ended the life of TPA USA’s founder and president, Charlie Kirk. As the official cause of death, state and federal bureaucrats contend that a furry-loving gay man did the deed to defend his love. A team of online sleuths, however, would quickly punch holes in the narrative. Did Kirk’s declaration that he was done with Israel play any part in his untimely demise? As the case progresses, evidence of the weeks and months of pressure for Kirk to support all things Israel only adds to their suspicion.
Kirk, a Judeo-Christian, was firmly on the side of Israel during the later growth of his organization, targeting college campuses for their Marxist, anti-Christian promotion. But Israel’s gratuitous response to the October 7, 2023, massacre may have been the last straw of Kirk’s undying support. But this is not the first time that Israel overplayed their hand.
In John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt’s 2007 book, “The Israel Lobby”, the authors review America’s special relationship with Israel to determine whether moral or strategic considerations are enough for America to continue its unlimited alliance. Additionally, questions remain whether America’s foreign policy objectives have been helped or hindered by its stubborn collaboration with America’s seemingly 51st state. A t-chart of the pros and cons of an ongoing American partnership with Israel suggests America may not be benefiting. Led by a lobby of pro-Israel, Zionist Christian, and Neo-conservatives, biblical prophecy for Israel to keep its land has been a key point of propaganda towards the American people.
Among the most egregious acts is Israel's treatment of Palestinians, which began with its establishment in 1948, driving out half of the population. Since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, Israel’s aggressive response has changed its sympathies from one of victim to one of a bully. America’s participation in conflicts in Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Lebanon, done at the behest of Israel or for its security, has only strengthened jihadist groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS, and al-Qaeda, the very terror organizations we battle to this day.
With a Jewish population of just 2.4 percent in the United States, the influence of the Jewish state of Israel exceeds all others. AIPAC, the most prominent group within the Israel Lobby, most recently spent $53 million on 361 candidates in the 2024 election to elect politicians sympathetic to the Israel cause. Republican Kentucky representative Thomas Massie drew President Trump’s ire when he successfully passed legislation requiring the Department of Justice to release all their files on Jeffrey Epstein and his trafficking ring. This, along with another sin, refusing AIPAC money, resulted in the punishment of three Zionist billionaires funding 20 million in resources to oust Massie in the 2026 mid-term election.
Based on a New York Times/Sienna poll in September 2025, American support for Israel has dropped from 47 percent to 34 percent since the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, while support for Palestine has increased from 20 percent to 35 percent, suggesting Israel’s underdog status has sustained irreparable damage.
American interests in the Middle East include its reliance on oil and natural gas, its attempts to limit weapons of mass destruction, and anti-American sentiment that makes the United States less safe. As a result of its ongoing coalition with Israel, America has nearly 50,000 troops in several Arab countries in the Middle East.
Removing these boots from the ground in the Middle East would likely translate into less war, less resentment towards America, and less need for Arab countries to acquire weapons of mass destruction. Like all other nations in the world, the United States should heed the advice of our First President, George Washington, who said in his 1791 farewell speech, “It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world”. As such, we should wish Israel well and provide help only when appropriate for American interests, as we would for any other country.
Ending the power of the Israel Lobby in the US is in the best interests of America First. Kissing the Wailing Wall in Israel should be left to those who have sincere amity with their Jewish brothers and sisters, and not those who fear repercussions from the Israel Lobby.
Charlie Kirk sounded the alarm when he found that college students were abandoning Israel in record numbers over the Palestinian massacre. Now he’s dead. Whether his questioning of Israel’s influence in American politics played a role, we may never know. Whatever the case, America must reassess its policies in the Middle East and neutralize its partnership with Israel.
