“American elites are granting legitimacy to the Chinese Government and are rewarded with large financial deals.” – Red Handed
After all the drama surrounding the pre-midterm election raid at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago comes news that Joe Biden, too, was illegally in receipt of his own collection of classified documents. The scene of the first discovery, the Penn Biden Center in Washington DC, served as Biden’s official office following the end of his Vice-Presidential term. Affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, Biden’s think tank, an oxymoronic notion, is just one of many academic institutions receiving millions in donations from Chinese donors. And there is plenty more where that came from, with hopes, no doubt, of further renumeration.
This isn’t the first attempt by China to insert itself into American institutions. Nor is China any different in its quest for international domination against the world’s current superpower, the United States. China’s obvious advantage is the magnitude of its low-wage labor, already actively skimming jobs from America. In fact, China has already attained dominance in the manufacturing of many green technologies, producing 80 percent of solar panels sold in America. This adds to their control over 80 percent of rare earth minerals used to produce electric vehicles and smartphones, as renewable energy continues to be touted as the panacea for sustainable development. As far as lifesaving medicines, China produces over 90 percent of antibiotics, and 80 percent of pharmaceutical ingredients, leaving America vulnerable to Chinese whims. ChinaownsUS.com, a website formed in 2020 for the American Security Institute, shows the creeping influence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the United States. It’s no secret that China wishes to weaken America from the inside out and influence our affairs. But they didn’t just seek us, we sought them.
In feeding the dragon, we naively provided intelligence, technology, and money to prop up the communist ideology of the CCP. Initially, the goal of engaging with China was to reduce the potential for future hostilities, improve our relationship through trade, and create a safer world. In exchange was the belief that China would see the light, shun communism, and turn towards democracy. In so doing, the Chinese people might themselves begin to see the benefits of freedom and demand change. Instead, the payola scheme was money, access, and power to the highest bidder with very little expected in return.
Elites have always had a soft spot for dictatorships, often flocking to communist countries for photo ops with the strongmen themselves. Their belief that an authoritarian system with no restraints is better than democracy came from a sense of frustration over their inability to impose their political will, as in climate change restrictions, and COVID mandates. The less dissent there is, the more efficiency can be gained, and the sooner their utopia can be had. It is an odd love/hate relationship with the patriarchy since many dictators are hailed as father figures whose goals are to control others from the top down. But mostly, their love of despots in authoritarian societies simply mirrors their own desire for power over others.
These same elites are quick to blame America for all that is wrong in the world yet unwilling to recognize obvious human rights violations in China: from reeducation camps, mass incarcerations of political and religious prisoners, the harvesting of organs from dissenters, and most notoriously, the disappearance of dissidents. They make excuses for the Tiananmen Square massacre as they look away when censorship and surveillance run rampant. They cheer China’s social credit scores as another way to control the population. As the money and opportunities grew, their increasing lack of loyalty to America became inevitable. Initially, we thought China would yield to us, we never dreamed that we would yield to them.
In Peter Schweizer’s 2022 best-selling book, “Red Handed”, Schweizer, president of the conservative think tank, Government Accountability Institute, reveals the many ways that elite Americans support China for cash and prizes. A slew of Washingtonian players, while serving in key positions, secure future opportunities with Chinese companies, often recommending family members for sweetheart deals, in an apparent quid pro quo. More recently, the titans of Big Tech censored content to appease the CCP in exchange for access to the largest consumer base in the world—ditto for sports, Wall Street, entertainment, and academia. Actor John Cena famously apologized to CCP leaders after accidentally calling Taiwan a country, a reality that seems to irk Chinese officials. And Schweitzer names names that include: the Bidens, the McConnells, the Pelosis, the Bushes, and the Feinstein’s, along with the tales of grift that have come their way.
For example, there is evidence that Hunter Biden, Joe’s derelict son has received over 31 million dollars from his multiple deals with Chinese businessmen, both during and after VP Biden’s term in office. Many of these deals were initiated after taking a taxpayer-funded flight on Air Force 2 with his dad in tow. Emails from Hunter’s abandoned laptop confirmed off-book meetings between his dad and his clients along with evidence of shared bank accounts between father and son, with Hunter, seemingly serving as a mere conduit to bring the two sides together. Multiple sources have Hunter’s net worth at 230 million dollars, much of it attained through influence peddling. Hunter is now being investigated by the Department of Justice for tax evasion of foreign money, potential money laundering, and overall corruption. With the advent of the growing list of classified documents, President Biden, too, is now under investigation. In addition to Hunter, two Biden brothers, one sister, and his son-in-law all have their tentacles in the foreign pools of influence. And what was the payback for all this pay-to-play? Well, the Biden regime was quick to assist China’s coverup of the COVID-19 origin debacle, to name just one.
There’s a fine line between working with China to keep them from isolation, and the sale of influence that is putting America at risk. What started as engagement, in search of peace and trade, has led to a self-interested betrayal of our American heritage. Our Founders cautioned us about how foreign money could corrupt our country. We are now seeing the consequences of ignoring their warnings.
