COVID: The Final Chapter?

“It is truly like living in a Kafka novel. Nothing makes sense. People touted as experts on TV repeatedly tell you things you can disprove with three mouse clicks, and most people act as if this is normal” – Diary of a Psychosis

After nearly four years of COVID mania, the results are finally in.  Spoiler alert: no matter what mitigation measures were taken, whether masking, lockdowns, or social distancing, outcomes from countries, states, and cities, were nearly identical.  If one area performed worse, it was almost always the one that had the strictest rules.  Yet, amid these COVID protocols, rather than acknowledging or reversing course, the experts only dug in deeper.  Now, years later, their botched and totalitarian responses can no longer be ignored.

In the mid-1940s, a new term, debriefing, took hold amid the battles of WWII, where interrogations following a military mission would yield important information about the success or failure of an operation.  Such debriefing typically consisted of a series of questions.  In the War on COVID, important answers must be given to mitigation efforts, economic fallout, and vaccine efficacy.  Many books were written amid the fog during COVID-19, but for the first time, a devastating autopsy tells the real story, and the results are disastrous.

In Thomas E. Woods, Jr.’s 2023 book, “Diary of a Psychosis”, historian Woods retells the COVID tales through a month-by-month account of actions and reactions to the COVID battle plan in real-time beginning in early 2020.  Through charts, studies, and moments of sanity, Woods sets the record straight on what the experts predicted and what actually happened.  Yet, despite being wrong on almost every account, public health officials, politicians, and corporate leaders suffered no consequences for the lives they ruined, whether by bungled medical treatments, economic devastation, or mental torment.  Rather than safety and healthcare, their aims were quickly revealed as a pursuit of compliance, dependence, and fear.  When dissenters attempted to express their legitimate concerns, their voices were silenced, and their livelihoods threatened.

By late 2023, the curtains have yet to fall on the COVID propaganda campaign, where masking, lockdowns, and the arbitrary six feet of social distancing proved to be nothing more than an invention in foolishness.  In the early days of 2020, fears of even more deaths from mitigation than COVID in the form of missed cancer screenings and disease treatments, alcohol, drugs, and suicide, went unaddressed.  Thankfully, Sweden’s dissent from established protocols provided an unwelcome control group against the hardcore authoritarian plan, with little masking, school closures, and national lockdowns.  And yet through it all, there was no self-reflection or intellectual curiosity about the wrongness of their protocols.  Instead, to keep up with the appearance of competence, COVID elites frantically moved the goalposts and changed definitions to divert embarrassing inquiries.  First, they screwed up the COVID response, then the Vaccine.

The economic fallout alone left nonessential businesses to die, as no cost-benefit analysis was made to determine the point at which measures became economically infeasible.  Instead, staggering inflation, due in part to COVID stimulus checks and other foolish spending, would serve as a drag on the economy for years to come.  Money was haphazardly sent to both companies and their workers, keeping the latter at home, while businesses struggled.  Unsurprisingly, a half trillion in fraud from PPP loans, COVID unemployment, and other relief programs, became known as the biggest con in a generation.  An unsustainable freeze on student loan repayment that extended for more than three years left 40 percent of borrowers unable or unwilling to keep up with their debts.

Elderly COVID deaths in 2020 were replaced with an acceleration of working-age deaths by the fall of 2021 following Biden’s mandate of the experimental COVID-19 vaccine.  Normally requiring 7-10 years of testing to attain needed safety data, Warp Speed bypassed all usual protocols and instead dropped their best shot after less than a year of trials.  Many countries eventually either paused or banned COVID-19 vaccines for side effects or to protect the young from unnecessary risks.  By the Fall of 2023, a lack of accountability and unanswered questions about excess deaths and disabilities led to only 14 percent of adults opting for the 2023-24 COVID booster.

Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter in October 2022 was immediately followed by the Twitter Files project that revealed the federal government censorship of individuals during the whole of the pandemic for the sins of questioning official COVID policy.  From doctors to academics, and more, social media accounts were shuttered to stop unwanted questions and skepticism.  Now, even four years later, those who had it right, including the physicians from the Great Barrington Declaration, have yet to be acknowledged.  Others who promoted worst-case scenarios, seemed peeved when outcomes were better than expected, often hiding good news as Nashville politicians did to bars and restaurants when they ignored data that disproved their antiquated policies.

So, while our long national nightmare may be limping to its end, the fallout seems to be a nation that is less trusting of its “experts”, and even its fellow citizens who were too often willing to be led off a plank without question.  As a result, so-called experts are no longer seen as truth-sayers and protectors, but as the bad actors they truly are.  If the sequel returns, hopefully, we’ll be ready.
