“Violence is a feature, not a bug, of Antifa’s ideology.” - Unmasked
As the media narrative surrounding the January 6 capitol insurrection begins to crumble, the real insurrection story remains largely ignored. Despite consecutive years of riots, arson, and violence by hundreds of Antifa members in cities across the country, the media continues to minimize property damage, death counts, and ongoing agitation toward citizens. Instead, Democrats and their media allies cheered their peaceful resistance in the face of imaginary right-wing hate. And while it may appear that they have won the battle, they are already losing the war. Antifa and its associates are beginning to turn on the once-appeasing mayors of their occupied left-wing cities.
Antifa, a creation of the far left, and heavily influenced by academia, is a brazenly anti-American, anti-free speech, and anti-police group. Backed by Marxist ideology, their operational agenda includes the use of propaganda, class warfare, and militant combat as outlined in their training materials, uncovered by Project Veritas. Fulfilling the definition of a domestic terrorist organization, their attacks are premeditated, politically motivated, and deployed against mostly peaceful assemblies.
Recently, the mostly white mob found a new avenue for their violence, following the death of George Floyd. This was not their first exploitation following the death of a black man at the hands of a police officer. Yet, with their newly developed tag-team alliance with BLM, both groups saw an explosion in their membership and funding. No longer seen as a fringe group, Antifa took full advantage of these incidents to exacerbate racial sensitivities by selectively editing videos of altercations and creating a false narrative that spread like wildfire. When the truth finally emerged days later, it was too late. The damage was already done.
Antifa’s greatest show of strength has been demonstrated in regular riots and violence in the upper western cities of Seattle and Portland. Here, they set up deadly autonomous zones as they set out to destroy police precincts. Over several months, hundreds of local police and federal agents were harmed, some severely. As a result, Antifa’s greatest accomplishment is the emasculation of the police who regularly stand down, having lost support from their local mayors and city councils. Without the use of tear gas to minimize the crowds, Antifa now controls the streets of these progressive cities.
Antifa hides in plain sight under the banner of anti-fascism, though it is nothing of the sort. They masquerade in black bloc to conceal their identity and are digitally trained to cover their tracks online. They abuse vocabulary by changing definitions to suit their agenda. Violence becomes self-defense, but only when they are the perpetrators. Their calling card is broken windows, used to incite enough chaos to spark mass riots and turn unsuspecting protestors into violent mobs. Yet, violence is only one side of their dismal existence. They create further fear and intimidation through harassment and the doxing and surveillance of their enemies on social media.
None of this would be possible without the consent and approval of the corporate media, who have essentially become corporate sponsors. By creating a narrative of peaceful protests even as cities are burning, they provide cover for the group’s real intentions. They refuse to recognize or condemn their violent behavior, and instead, cast false accusations against their opposition.
Antifa's radical ideas are increasingly supported by Democrats. Looting was first deemed acceptable by BLM as a means of racial justice. Since then, some left-wing media outlets including NPR, have begun to express their approval through favorable articles and televised reports. Likewise, others from the left including Teen Vogue, Mayor de Blasio, and even the Marxist Pope Francis have dismissed the importance of property rights, some calling for outright abolition. Funds supported by liberal celebrities and politicians in Minneapolis and Portland have raised tens of millions of dollars to spring these criminals arrested for crimes of property damage, arson, and even murder.
In Andy Ngo’s 2021 book, “Unmasked”, Ngo and his family came full circle with leftist radical ideology, after his own parent's flight from the Vietnamese Socialist Republic to the safety of Portland, Oregon, only to see their own son clash with Antifa thugs, leaving him with a brain injury in 2019. Ngo, who has been tracking Antifa’s destruction since 2015, tells their story by recounting in detail their riots and destruction across the US. Ngo looks into the history of the Antifa movement from their birth in Europe and eventual foray into the US, escalating with the election of Donald Trump in 2016. Finally, he disclosed the long list of deadly violence left in the wake of Antifa’s activities.
Nearly two billion dollars in damages followed Antifa and BLM rioting across the nation in the past year. Minneapolis saw some of the worst with millions of dollars of property damage from fire-ravaged buildings and destroyed city blocks. Yet, city council members quickly signaled their support for the defunding of the police and reallocation of money to other sources. Last week, the “Defund the Police” strategy in Minneapolis was exposed as an utter failure, with skyrocketing violence and unsafe neighborhoods. Now, millions of dollars will be needed to recruit officers to a very unfriendly city to try to reverse the trend. Antifa’s goal to undermine American society is in full swing. We ignore them at our own peril.
